In an old fashioned glass, crush a star anise with vanilla syrup.
Add all the remaining ingredients directly on ice.
Stir, add ice and the second star anise on top.
Père Magloire V.S.O.P. is notable because it is made only from cider from apples harvested in the Pays d’Auge. The character this soil gives the apples, combined with double distillation in copper stills, offers the V.S.O.P. richness and length. V.S.O.P. is blended from Calvados which has been aged in century-old oak barrels for at least four years.
I have worked for 2 years in the Montreal bar "Les Enfants Terribles".
Calvados is often associated with the fall and apple season. This cocktail has a different facet and reveals the freshness of the product.
I use especially Calvados Père Magloire for its vanilla side.
A perfect cocktail for summer, with friends on the terrace ...
