4,5cl - 1.5 oz. of Calvados Père Magloire V.S.O.P.
1,5cl - 1/2oz. of pumpkin puree
2cl - 0.75oz. of House made spices (clove, lemon peel, other)
1,5cl - 1/2oz. of lemon juice
2 dashes of bitterDetails of the recipe
Rate this cocktail:
Put all ingredients, including pumpkin puree in a shaker.
Shake until well blended.
Pour into a double Old fashioned glass on the rocks.
You can drink it anytime. Before or after dinner.
Père Magloire V.S.O.P. is notable because it is made only from cider from apples harvested in the Pays d’Auge. The character this soil gives the apples, combined with double distillation in copper stills, offers the V.S.O.P. richness and length. V.S.O.P. is blended from Calvados which has been aged in century-old oak barrels for at least four years.
I grew up in Minneapolis where I began my 15 years career in the restaurant industry. In 2003, I moved to Chicago to begin bartending.
I began to work at Avec 6 years ago and take the time to develop my cocktails utilizing and working with the chef to come up with unique was to bring food aspect into the cocktail.
I like working with Calvados Père Magloire VSOP because it’s an excellent spirit and incredibly underutilized as a base spirit in cocktails. This Calvados has excellent Autumnal qualities and perfect for the season!
